Understanding Automation Plus Sign (+) Action Types
When creating an Automation, you can build in various automated Action Types, such as contact updates, status changes, tag additions or removals, sending new emails, texts, tasks, and more.
Understanding Automation Plus Sign (+) Action Types
There are many different Action Types to choose from when building an Automation. This section will help define what each Action Type does when adding them to an Automation.
Automation
Connect a Modular Type automation to the Primary Automation you are currently running.
This is handy as it lets you make the Primary Automation initial messaging more succinct, with different Modular Type Automations to pick up depending on the Contact Interaction.
Contact Move
As a community or team owner, you can create an automation that cycles a contact through an automation process to qualify them to be Called or transferred to a team or community member. Once you have reached a specific point in the Automation, you can add the Contact Move Action to trigger the Clone or Transfer.
Contact Share
Unavailable for pipeline-type automation, the Contact Share Action enables you to share a Contact with another Team member automatically.
Contact Update
Automatically update a Contact Record amid the Automation to trigger updated status, or add a tag and remove a tag based on how you want to track your Contacts assigned to Automations.
This is handy if you use the Contact Filter to create different groupings of Contacts to review.
Edit Task
The "Edit Task" automation action allows users to automatically update tasks based on responses to the emails or texts you send.
Material Check
The Material Check will appear as an (+) Action option to add after inserting Material (PDF, Image, or Video) into an Automation Email or Text Action.
It will help you track Material activity and your Contact database interaction with the Material media you have sent.
Move Deal
Available for Pipeline Stage and Pipeline Deal Automations, Move Deal is similar to Contact Move but encompasses Pipeline Deals ONLY.
The Move Deal Action allows you to automate how a Pipeline Deal flows through your transaction flow in the Pipeline if you want to avoid manually moving Pipeline Deals.
New Deal
When you associate a New Deal to a Contact to trigger an Automation, you are automating an Automation to trigger within a Pipeline Stage.
You can also create a specific Pipeline Deal Automation for specific Pipeline Deal Cards.
New Email
Create an email by composing a manual message or choosing a pre-existing template, then schedule it within an automation.
New Note
Add notes to automatically land on a Contact Record to remind yourself where you're in the communication process or what you need to remember during your transaction.
When opting to build in a New Note, the system will automatically add the content after the last action within the Automation.
New Task
Create task reminders for follow-ups on general tasks, phone calls, meetings, emails, and texts.
New Text
You can create an automated message by crafting custom text, selecting a pre-made template, and scheduling it in an Automation.
Task Complete
Similar to the "Material Check" Automation Action, which is based on Material Consumption that triggers specific Communication paths, the "Task Complete" Automation Action enables a "branching off" to Path A or Path B Action based on whether the previous Task was completed (Yes, branch) or uncompleted (No, branch).
*Note: Be sure to set the time delays for actions under the yes and no branches according to the task duration created previously. If you are not mindful of timing when adding the "Task Complete" Action, the "Yes", and "No" branches may trigger sooner than anticipated.
