How to Navigate Newsletter Content Menu Tool Tiles

When creating a newsletter, you have the opportunity to either build it from scratch by adding Content Menu Tools, or opening a canned Template, and inserting Content Menu Tool Tiles into the Template.

Location of Content Menu Tools

Whether you are using an existing template, or building a template from scratch, the Content Menu Tool Tiles live on the right side of the Newsletter.

To add a Content Menu Tool Tile, click on the Tile then drag the tile into the Template

  1. Column Tile

    1. The Columns tool can be used to insert different column groups

  2. Heading Tile

    1. The Heading Tile includes four format types of headers for the Newsletter, as well as access to choose the Font, Font Weight (regular or bold), Font Size, Color (you can customize with specific HEX or RGB color codes to match branding), alignment, and line height

    2. Need help writing a Heading? Use the Smart Headings tool to help you customize the headline. Just click on the Smart Headings, type in what you want the AI tool to describe, and click the green "Get Suggestions" button. You can also adjust the "Tone" of the heading by clicking on the dropdown menu.

  3. Text

    1. Similar to the Heading tool, you drag the Text tile into the Newsletter to add text to the body. You will see the usual text formatting tools similar to a Google Doc or Word Doc to update the font, font color, font highlight, bullet lists, and more.

    2. Use the Smart Text to get help in writing creative content in relation to the topic at hand. Just click the green Smart Text tool within the Text formatting tools. Then you can ask the system to enhance the quality of your writing. Options include;

      1. Fix Spelling & Grammar

      2. Expand Text

      3. Summarize Text

      4. Rephrase Text

      5. Make it Friendly

      6. Make it Formal

  4. Image

    1. Upload, insert an image via URL, or choose an image from the free image library in seconds within the Image tool.

        All images are licensed under Creative Commons Zero.

      2. What is meant by Creative Commons?

        Creative Commons licenses give everyone from individual creators to large institutions a standardized way to grant the public permission to use their creative work under copyright law.

    2. You can Upload an Image, Use the Image Library, or Link an Image

      1. Insert an Image with a URL

        1. Be sure that you are using an image that you own or have permission to use from the Creator

        2. Using Google Images, click on Tools, then click on Image Rights, select Creative Commons, then choose an image in those results

        3. To choose a Google Images Creative Commons image, right-click on the image, then click on Copy Image Address

        4. Paste the link into the URL field in the Newsletter Image section on the right, and press enter

      2. How to Link an Image to a URL

        1. Click on the Image you have added to the newsletter, then scroll down on the right side until you see the Action section. Paste the URL within the field. This will make the image interactive with the contacts reading your newsletter. Once they click the image, they will be sent to the destination URL you added.

        2. Choose HOW you want it to open;

          1. Same Tab

            1. This opens the link on the same tab and removes the reader from your open Newsletter. The recipient will need to navigate back to the Newsletter to continue reading it with ease

          2. New Tab

            1. This opens a NEW tab on the browser, leaving the Newsletter open, AND the image link

  5. Button

    You can easily insert a button into Content by dragging it into the newsletter if you want to create a call to action asking recipients to click to get more information.

    1. You can adjust different items related to the button;

        1. You can add a call to action to visit a website, make a phone call, send an email, or send a text from the Newsletter

      2. Button Options

        1. Edit the text color, background color, auto width (or adjust the slider yourself), and alignment of left, center, right, or justified

  6. Divider

    1. You can quickly add a divider between sections of the Newsletter template, and edit the width, color, and more

        1. Width

          1. drag the line to the left or right to adjust the width of the divider

        2. Line

          1. Choose a Divider type by choosing from solid, dotted, or dashed on the dropdown menu

          2. Click on the "color picker" box to the right of the px choices below the Divider type dropdown menu

        3. Align

          1. Choose to format the Divider line to the right, left, center, or justified

        1. This tool enables you to hide the desktop access for a specific newsletter and make it for mobile access only when you toggle "hide on desktop" on (slide to the right, and it turns green)

  7. HTML

    1. This section allows you to embed HTML into the Newsletter

  8. Menu

    1. You have the ability to create a menu of options in the Newsletter. This includes calls to action of sending the recipient to a specific URL, sending you an email, calling you, texting you, or inserting crmgrow Material that you have created or can access via your team.

        1. This is where you can add additional items by clicking on the "Add New Item" text with the plus sign icon

      2. Styles

        1. Font Family, Font Size, Text Color, Link Color, Alignment, Layout (Vertical or Horizontal), Separator, Padding

        1. Container padding can be left as is, or you can adjust each side of the container individually

      4. Responsive Design

    1. Your Material library of Video, PDF, and Image files within your Materials in crmgrow are all accessible for you to insert into a Newsletter.

        1. Drag the CRM Materials tile into the Newsletter content container

        2. Click on the Material/s you want to insert into the newsletter

        3. To choose a different piece of Material, click on the image, video, or pdf currently within the newsletter.
